SPOTLIGHT ON CHARLINE MARRINAN

Charline Marrinan

Charline’s nature photography has opened a whole new world for her, from the first zoom and snap of her camera, she has been capturing marvelous scenes of nature.

Majority of Charline’s photos are taken within 50 miles of her home in Pulaski County. Adjoining counties also have an abundance of God’s Beauty that can be seen in her photos. In her collection you can also view the Smoky Mountain and other scenic areas.

Charline has experienced the joy of being filmed by Dave Shuffett of Kentucky Life on KET when a segment was done about her photography.

Andrew Powell of the Voice newspaper wrote about Charline at her book signing of the Spirit of Nature that “Capturing the true spirit of a subject in a still image is a rare art that can take some photographers a lifetime to master. For others, that spirit can master the person behind the camera taking them deep into that one still moment. Charline Marrinan fits into the second category of photographers.”

God has truly blessed Charline in a special way.

Spotlight on Teresa Day

-->
Teresa Day of London Kentucky has been an artist for many years. Her works range from mixed media paintings, sculptures, and pen and ink drawings. Her main media is paint on canvas. Ms. Day has a business as a muralist. Her business “Art By Day” was established in the spring of 1995 in London, Kentucky. It is very well known.

Teresa Day has loved art since elementary school. One of her teachers (Ms. Bittle) took her under her wing and gave her one-on-one art lessons. She also took her to art museums and entered her work in state fairs. Today Ms. Day looks back on that time of learning, experience, and encouragement with a great deal of gratitude.

Ms. Day studied the arts throughout her school years and painted a mural in Laurel County High School in 1977.  She went on to study art at Eastern Kentucky University then started to paint for friends. That experience led her to do what she does today as a muralist.

Spotlight on Barbara Willingham

Barbara Willingham

 Mountain Delivery

Barbara Willingham is a lifelong resident of Southeastern Kentucky, having been born in Harlan County, and spending her childhood in rural Laurel County. For several years after high school, Barbara worked in factories while she raised her son, Darren. Barbara was a dedicated mother, and creating visual art was not a priority then. However, Barbara usually found time to draw and paint as a means of relaxation and creative expression.
In 1985, Barbara began her pursuit of a formal art education when she enrolled at Cumberland College (University of the Cumberlands) in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She earned her Master of Art-English Education degree and began teaching art in 1990 for Corbin Independent Schools. After 19 years, Barbara retired from teaching and currently devotes her time to painting and managing her own gallery situated beside her home in London, Kentucky.

Barbara draws and paints in a realistic style that often depicts the simple and quaint way of live in which she grew up. She paints subjects which inspire or connect to her personally, such as a memorable everyday life event, an architectural treasure, or a beautiful landscape. Barbara's mountain heritage is a defining factor that is present in all of her works.
From her original oil and watercolor paintings, Barbara produces prints and note cards to supply her own gallery and other visual art markets. Her works hang in numerous private and corporate collections. The demand for Barbara's art by collectors and art enthusiasts continues to increase
locally and abroad.
